Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Wednesday condemned the use of bullets and pellets against the civilian population at Kothipora, Chattergam and Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. The people were protesting against the killing of two militants and injuring of more than 15 persons, most of whom were referred in a critical condition to various hospitals at Srinagar, a spokesman of the lawyers’ body. “This is brazen act of barbarity, which has no parallels in the civilized societies and besides being contrary to Universal Declaration on Human Rights, also offends the International Covenants guaranteeing the people the fundamental right to protest and appeals the members of International Community to step in, earnestly and take concrete measures in stopping Indian Forces in Kashmir from committing the gruesome and systematic genocide of the people of Kashmir.”
