Srinagar: Stating that the civilian killings in Kashmir by the militants is ‘gruesome and terror act’, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Range, Swayam Prakash Pani on Monday said that the state police is investigating the social media handles propagating the crime.

Earlier, at least three civilians were killed by the militants who according to them were ‘informers’ while as the Hizb-ul-Muhjaideen cadre have also released the video of killings, threatening to kill those who according to them are ‘harming their cause’.

Talking to media persons here, IGP Kashmir said that the killing by the militants is reflection of terror crimes and police is investigating the matter.

He also said that those propagating the crime on social media are also doing the crime and that police is investigating the social media handles who are propagating it. “Strict action will be taken against those who are propagating the crime here,” he said.

Pani divulged that a case has already been registered in this regard while as the further investigation is going on.

Asked about arrest of two woman ‘Over Ground Workers’, Pani said that investigation in this regard is also going on.
