Anantnag: Several villages in Anantnag District are reeling under darkness due to the power breakdown caused by the heavy snowfall last week.

According to locals several villages in Anantnag District include Kokernag, Dooru and Verinag areas are in darkness following the heavy snowfall in last week.

Residents complained that the department is in deep slumber and didn’t restore electricity in their areas yet.

An official of the PDD Department told INS said that the electricity will be restored within two days in these areas as the snowfall has caused heavy damages to the transmission lines near Dialgam.

“Due to the untimely snow the main lines and poles of hyper transmission of power supply of receiving stations have suffered major damagesnear the Checki Wanihama, Bondialgam, Dialgam. The employees of our department are working hard to restore electricity and I hope that within two days the electricity will be restored in these area,” he said.
