HC quashes PSA detention orders of 8 detainees

HC quashes 9 PSA detention orders

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed detention orders under Public Safety Act against eight detainees and directed authorities to be set free from the preventive custody forthwith if not required in connection with any other case. In some cases, the court ordered that further custody of the detainee shall be governed by the orders as shall be passed by the court of competent jurisdiction relatable to the criminal cases registered against him.
The detainees who PSA orders were quashed by the court include Shahnawaz Ahmad Magray of Pulwama, Sami-ullah Sheikh of Baramulla, Hilal Ahmad Ganie of
Larkipora Awantipora, Javid Rasool Dar of Baramulla, Nameez Ahmad Yatoo of Baramulla, Suhail Ahmad Waza of Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat of Pulwama and Reyaz Ahmad Malik of Anantnag.
