Srinagar: A book reading session was on Friday organized by Strategy & Tactics Executives at Lal Ded memorial Hall, Habba Kadal here. Eminent writers and authors across the Valley participated in the session.
The organizer Er Suhail Farooq presented his gratitude to all the participants, media correspondents, INTACH, owner Fat panda Restaurant and guests including Mushtaq Bala, patron ‘Kashmir pen’ and Mushtaq Sadiq, patron ‘Daily Time & Us and Falak -e-Shigaaf newspaper’.
Talking to INS, Er Suhail said that the programme was organized to provide a platform for the writers and authors.
He said that the book reading in Kashmir is becoming irrelevant with each passing due to the technology. “If we see in the foreign countries, the people are addicted to reading books and other related things like magazines, newspapers but with new technology in the hands, the book reading here is becoming irrelevant,” Er Suhail said.
He said that organizing such event was aimed to create general awareness among masses about book reading. “I am aspiring to organize such events in the future as well to create awareness about book reading among people especially youth who are becoming addicted to technology,” he said.
