Several localities in Sopore suffer due to non availability of portable water supply, protest erupts in Ningli area

Sopore: Several areas of Sopore sub division of Baramulla district are battling with non availability of portable water from several days now. At least two areas have hit roads demanding immediate restoration of water supply.   
The areas badly hit with the supply lines for portable water going dry include Chakrodai khan, natti pora, wadoora, chankhan, greeen town, bypass and Ningli.
On Thursday residents of Ningli area staged a protest demonstration and protesting men and women blocked Sopore-Tarzoo road. 
Raising slogans against PHE department for failinig to provide them regular portable water supply. Despite repeated attempts officials at PHE division Sopore were not available for comments.
Pertinent to mention that last week Green Town area of Sopore protested against water scarcity in the area for past two months, for which authorities assured to redress the issue at earliest.
However residents of the green town are yet to receive portable water supply and taps remain dry in the area despite assurances from the authorities.
Several attempts to officials of the PHE went unanswered.
