Srinagar: A special police officer (SPO) was injured when suspected militants fired upon him at Charari Sharief area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday. The gunmen fired upon the SPO, Mohammad Hafiz, at Chrawni village of Charari Sharief and he suffered injuries in leg, officials said. The SPO was shifted to the nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment, the official added. Meanwhile, army, Police and CRPF cordoned off the area in a bid to nab the attackers. However, no arrests were made when this report was filed.
