Kashmir shuts to mark Indian Army’s landing in J&K

Srinagar: Complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley on Saturday over Joint Resistance Leadership against the landing of Indian army in the valley on the same day in 1947.

All the business establishments, markets, schools, colleges, and transport across the valley is shut. 

Authorities have imposed strict restrictions in areas of Nowhatta, MR Gunj, Safa Kadal, Rainawari, Khanyar, Kralkhud and Maisuma.

Shutdown is being observed in all district headquarters in northern and southern Kashmir, reports said.

JRL had asked in a press statement to observe the day as ‘black and occupation day’.
