Srinagar: In wake of the JRL’s call for Lal Chowk march and anger among people over Kulgam civilian killings, the authorities have decided to close schools and colleges in many parts of the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday. Kashmir University has also postponed examinations scheduled tomorrow in wake of the possible restrictions in parts of the Valley, particularly in Srinagar and south Kashmir districts.
An official of the district administration Srinagar said all schools and colleges shall remain closed on Tuesday and the decision has been taken as a “precautionary measure”.
The district administration Kulgam has also announced that all colleges and Higher Secondary institutions shall remain closed in district kulgam on Tuesday.
Similarly, the district administration Bandipora has also decided to close the degree colleges and higher secondary schools in the north Kashmir district.
District administration Kupwara also announced to suspend class work in all colleges and higher secondary schools except Keran, Karnah and Machil areas.
Additional District Magistrate Spore has also ordered that government degree college, Higher Secondary boys and girls, welkins Higher secondary in Sopore shall remain closed on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Kashmir University on Monday postponed all examinations scheduled tomorrow.
“The examination of the papers of BG 4th Semester/B.ED 3rd & 4th Semester/M.A. Private 3rd/4th Semester/BE 2nd Semester which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday 23-10-2018 has been rescheduled,” KU said.
The spokesman said the revised date sheet is available on the University website.
