Budgam: In order to implement the early Childhood Care and Educational (ECCE) programs effectively across all the schools in Kashmir Division, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir has launched “NANHAY QADHAM” program under which each district has been provided five to six preschool centers in its first phase.
Wagoora in B.K Pora education zone was the first among the villages in central Kashmir Budgam district to have received the Government Kindergarten School.
The school was inaugurated by Chief Education Officer Budgam, Rouf Ahmad Shahmari on weekend. Besides SDM Chadoora, Aziz Ahmad, Zonal Education Officer B.K Pora, Razia, ZEPO B.K Pora Mushtaq Ahmad, District President Teachers Forum Budgam, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Zonal President B.K Pora, Mohammad Maqbool Dar, Dr Nasreen, Rehana Kounsar, Nighat Yaseen from State Resource Group (SRG) ECCE, were also present at the inaugural ceremony that took place at government High School Wagoora.
These schools will have digital Classrooms, a dedicated space for Art , music, drama and other activities.
At least 50 Children from three to six years of age can be enrolled in these schools. The teaching methodology adopted in these schools will be based on play way. Apart from this, free snacks and midday meals will be provided to the little ones. A large gathering of students, teachers, parents and local villagers made their presence on the occasion.
Speaking on this occasion, noted speakers including SDM Chadoora , CEO Budgam and others, shed light on the importance of education and the role of Kindergartens in building a child’s success in their first years of school. Parents while appreciating the unique initiative said, “We are thankful to the authorities who have worked towards the establishment of this kindergarten school in our village Wagoora, as it would help poor people like us to enroll our children in these Kindergarten Schools without any fee and prevent us from paying thousands of Rupees in Private run Kindergarten Schools ”.
