Anantnag: The subscribers of private telecommunication companies like Airtel and Jio have complained about erratic mobile and internet services in Katsoo Srigufwara area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The subscribers said that are facing immense problems due to erratic calling and internet services for last several years in area.
Katsoo village is about 20 kms away from main town Anantnag and it comes along highway from Bijbehara Pahalgam road.
“We are unable to contact our nears and dears as every time we dial the number, the network comes either busy, switched off, number does not exist or shows no network coverage,” said aggrieved residents, adding that due to poor network call drops happen frequently.
The residents said that they had approached cellular companies via emails and telephone conversation for installation of a mobile tower but to no avail.
The locals said recently a team from Airtel telecommunications visited the area and selected site for the tower but never returned back.
Meanwhile when contacted, south Head of Jio Nadeem Ahmad said that the service provider has already selected site for installing a tower and “very soon we will start work there.”
