Clashes in Kupwara, funeral prayers in absentia offered in Anantnag

Srinagar: While clashes erupted in parts of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, people in Anantnag district offered funeral prayers in absentia for scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani on Friday.
Reports of clashes were received from Tekkipora, the native village of Hizb-ul- Mujahideen commander Mannan Wani who was killed with an associate in the home district in an encounter with government forecs.
Reports said that youth took to streets in Sogam, Tekkipora, main market Kupwara and Regipora areas of the district to protest the killing of Wani and his aide Ashiq Hussain Zargar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Zargar of Tulwari Langate.
Meanwhile, reports from Anantnag said that scores of people assembled after Friday prayers and offered funeral prayers for Wani and his associate,
