Over a dozen youth arrested during nocturnal raids in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested over a dozen youth from different areas of Pulwama area in southern Kashmir.
The arrests come ahead of the municipal and local body polls scheduled to begin from October 8.
Sources said that the Jammu and Kashmir police have the past few days conducted nocturnal raids at different places in the district including Karimabad, Murran, Main Town Pulwama and other areas.
They said that at least 16 youth have been arrested during the raids.
Meanwhile, police officials of the district while confirming the arrest said that the some of the youths were over ground workers of militants while others have been detained to stop them from disrupting the upcoming local bodies and municipal elections in the valley.
