Tral: With increase in fruit business in Tral sub division of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the growers face many issues due to lack of fruit market.
The apple growers of this sub division have to visit Sopore apple market to sell their merchandise.
A delegation of farmers told INS that they have been working hard for decades to increase trade output of apple by using different processes.
The farmers said that despite all efforts, no concrete step are being taken to establish a fruit market in Tral.
“We are facing many problems without fruit market. We request authorities to establish a martket here,” Mohammad Aamir, a fruit grower, said.
Nazir Ahmad, another famer who was flanked by others said that going Sopore gives tough time to them as it is very far away from Tral.
A lot of expenses are incurred in carrying apples to Sopore including transport fares, they said.
The farmers demanded setting up of a fruit market in Tral sub division as early as possible to mitigate the problems facing the fruit growers.
