A spokesperson of Hurriyat (M) said that a contingent of forces reached the Nigeen residence of Mirwaiz and informed him that he was under house detention.

Mirwaiz was scheduled to address the Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.

According to JKLF spokesman a contingent of police cordoned Malik’s residence in the wee hours and arrested him from Maisuma and was shifted to Kothibagh police station.

Pertinently, the Joint Resistance Leadership including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik have called for a shutdown today on Friday against the “barbaric” killing of civilians and the arrest spree of resistance activists.
