Six injured in clashes amid CASO in Shopian

Shopian: At least sixpeople have been injured in clashes between protesters and government forces during cordon and search operation (CASO) in Shirmal village of south Kashmir’s Shopian on Saturday.

Protesters pelted stones on forces as they conducted searches in the area.

Forces retaliated by firing tear gas canisters and pellets to disperse them in which at least six people received pellet injures.

The search operation was launched by forces after inputs of militants presence in the area.

Clashes were going on when this report was being filed.
