At least 50 students are enrolled in the school, but the authorities have failed to depute adequate number of teachers to the school, thus leaving the students to lurch at large.

Headmaster of the school, Subi Shah told INS that the school has been ignored by the authorities as they have failed to provide teaching staff according to the cabinet sanction, saying that 10 teachers including as per the sanction should have been deputed to the education institute but unfortunately, only four teachers are currently deputed in the school.

She said that since she took over as Head master of the school four months back, she has made several requests to the concerned Chief Education Officer (CEO) regarding the shortage of teachers but every time they are buying time by asking to give the complaint in writing.

“I have written to the higher up several times so far but nothing has been done,” she said, adding that the lack of teaching staff has put the educational career of student at stake. She said in absence of teachers, she is taking seven classes in a day to ensure that education of students won’t suffer.

Visibly dilapidated building, the school is currently functioning in a private rented three storey building, comprising four rooms and a kitchen in dilapidated condition.

Besides, the school has no bathroom facility, thus forcing the students including boys and girls to face tremendous hardships.

About records, the head master informed that the erstwhile headmasters have failed to maintain the records of the school, thus forcing the higher ups to stop mid-day meals to the educational institute.

The school is in pathetic condition in every manner, she added.

The students while talking to this reporter said that they are facing hardships in absence of adequate teachers.

Arslan, a student said that the students have been left on god’s mercy as the authorities are paying no heed towards the condition of the school. “We are being forced to go home to attend the nature’s call. Besides, there is no playground, thus keeping the students away from the co-curricular activities,” he said.

The students also urged the authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief.

Besides, the students as well as the teachers informed no peon or sweeper has been deputed for the school, thus forcing the teachers as well students to clean the school on their own.

The officials said that the school was established in the year 1943, but since then it has been ignored at all fronts.

Concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Iftikhar Ahmad Fazili said that they will take necessary steps at an earliest for the well being of students.

“I will take up the matter and all the grievances will be redressed soon,” he assured.

However, the ZEO when asked about absence of teachers in the school said that the teachers refuse to join their duties in the school due to the deplorable attitude of the present headmaster.
