Upper reaches receive first spell of snow, temperature plummets

Srinagar: Higher reaches of Kashmir valley Saturday received season’s first snowfall while plains received rains and temperature plummeted in Valley.

According to traffic police officials one inch of fresh snow has accumulated around Zojilla Pass on Srinagar-Kargil-Leh highway, however traffic on the Srinagar Leh road has not been halted.

“Zojila, minimarg and Zero point have received seasons first snowfall. The upper reaches of Sonmarg also received snowfall,” officials said.

Fresh snowfall has also been reported from Gumri Sonamarg.
