Srinagar:Two local militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Galoora area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
Official said that exchange of gunfire started in the area after army’s 30 RR,  CRPF’s 92 battalion and SOG cordoned off Galoora Langate during predawn hours. During the course of gunfight, two militants were killed and as per local reports, the slain duo has been identified as Liyaqat Ahmad Lone and Furqan Ahmad, both belonging to Lashker-e-Toiba.
Authorities have directed telecom companies to snap internet services in Handwara parts while as district administration Kupwara has decided to suspend class work today in GDC Handwara and all Higher Secondary Schools of Mawar and Langate Zones as a precautionery measure.
