Pulwama: Pulwama working Journalist association (PWJA) protests in favour of and release of journalist Aasif sultan an assistant editor of kashmir narrator who was arrested by police and had sent central jail.

Journalist body said harassment of journalist is condemnable and government should look into the case of Asif sultan, and remove charges against him.

Meanwhile, Asif Sultan’s illegal detention has been challenged in court, sources said. They said that court has issues notice to the State government and fixed September13, for the case hearing.

President Pulwama working journalist association (PWJA) , Shah Irshad- ul-Qadri said: “The journalists should be allowed to do their job and they should not be harassed unnecessary.”

He appealed international journalist community to speak against this unjust detention and show solidarity with their colleagues working in vulnerable areas.
