Amid pro freedom sloganeering slain Handwara militant laid to rest

Thousands of people attended  funeral prayers of killed militant Furkan Ahmad 18, from Langate area of Handwara. He was laid to rest amid pro freedom sloganeering.

Furkan was killed along with his associate in an encounter with forces at langate early today. He had joined militant ranks some four months ago, and was a class 12th student. He is survived by his, sister, brother and parents.

Soon after the news regarding killing of Furkan spread, clashes erupted in parts of handwara, while internet services were also snapped in the area.

Educational institutions falling in police Distirct handwara were also closed as precautionary measure.
