Srinagar: Elected representatives being the custodians of the ‘public interest’ have an enormous responsibility to project the concerns, problems and priorities of their constituents before the Government for redressal in a time bound manner. It needs to be emphasized that Governor’s administration in consultation with elected representatives, is single-mindedly committed to ensure equitable development of all regions of the State.
It is in this context that Governor, Shri Satya Pal Malik appeals to all elected representatives to come forward and join hands with the Government in addressing the needs of the public in every nook and corner of the State. Today the government approved a major initiative through setting up of the J&K Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC). Through JKIFDC, government will spend upto Rs 8000 Crore on completing unfinished/languishing infrastructure projects which are there all over the State. Many of them have been started many years ago and their incomplete status is a great inconvenience to the people.
Therefore, elected representative are fervently requested to identify and prioritize all such incomplete/languishing works that are critical for their respective constituencies from the public stand point. Elected representatives are further requested to project ongoing or incomplete developmental projects in their constituencies which are at different stages of execution and require funding for their timely completion. These could be roads, bridges, drinking water schemes, school building, medical facilities and so on.
Elected representatives may forward their requests through the concerned Deputy Commissioner or directly to the Planning Development & Monitoring Department of the State Government.
The Governor’s administration reiterates its resolve to usher the State on the path of development and progress to fulfil the aspirations of the people.
