Forces lay siege to over a dozen villages in South Kashmir

Srinagar: Troops on Monday have started a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and adjacent districts.

Reports said that 18 villages were cordoned off by the joint forces of army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF following inputs about the presence of militants in various villages.

Witnesses said that the villages like Rohmu, Below, Rajpora, Putrigam, Mitrigam, Frasipura, Gasu, Kucchepura, Chak, Mirgund, Murran, Zagigam, Tukarpura, Kamrazipura, Drubgam and Hanjan have been brought under the cordon and house to house searches are being conducted by the forces.

The operation has been initiated since early morning, witnesses added.
