Six days on Assistant editor of Valley based magazine under detention

Srinagar: A Kashmir based journalist Aasif Sultan continues to be under police custody for the sixth consecutive day on Saturday.

Aasif Sultan, who is an assistant editor of a monthly magazine Kashmir Narrator, was taken by police during a night raid on Monday, and since then continues to be detained at police station Batamaloo.

Police has been telling his family that he will be released, but not until today. Police has questioned Aasif for his cover story on militant commander Burhan wani which appeared in the June issue of the magazine, his ideology and other stories.

The police also took away Laptop ,cell phones and other documents of Aasif during the raid.Kashmir Narrator has taken up the issue with international media watchdogs like IFJ and CPJ.
