Arrested journalist Asif Sultan complicit in harbouring militants: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that the journalist arrested six days ago has been harbouring militants.

Police spokesman said that On Asif Sultan, S/O Mohammed Sultan Saida of Firdous Abad ,Batmaaloo has been arrested by Police Station Batmaloo in case FIR No: 173/2018.

“The initial questioning of the accused, subsequent searches and disclosures made in the case so far have led to seizure of incriminating materials from various locations,” he said.

.The police claimed that the investigation establishes his complicity for harbouring known militants “involved in serious terror crimes”.

“Further investigation is of the case is going on,” he said.
