Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday paid rich tributes to two armed youth Altaf Ahmed Dar alias Kachroo and Umar Rashid Wani killed in an encounter with the government forces in Anantnag.
In a statement issued here said that Kashmiri youth are “offering priceless sacrifices to free their homeland from the clutches of occupation”.
The amalgam said that people of Kashmir will continue to safeguard these “sacrifices as they are the great assets of the struggle for freedom.”
The Hurriyat Conference said it was because of the ultimate “repression and the iron fist policy being unleashed by the lakhs of forces against the Kashmiri youth, which is becoming the major reason for the educated lot to opt arms as a means of resistance.”
The amalgam said that on ground, forces via military approach are suppressing and force the people of Kashmir into a submission.
The Hurriyat Conference said that the Delhi’s stubborn approach towards Kashmir and keeping the issue lingering was resulting in bloodbath almost every day. “It is high time for the Government of India to shun its hegemony and to start a meaningful dialogue for the resolution of vexed Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of people so that peace prevails not only in the sub-continent but in the entire South Asia.”
The Hurriyat strongly condemned the vandalizing the property of armed youth in various parts of south Kashmir stating that these acts are totally unjustified and reflects the “frustration” on part of the forces. “Damaging the property of armed youth and thrashing the inmates deserves all forms of condemnation,” the amalgam added.
