Sopore Coordination Committee holds sit-in against ‘attempts to scrap Article 35A

Sopore: The Sopore Coordination Committee members on Saturday held a sit-in at Iqbal market Sopore to protest the attempts to revoke Article 35-A, which define’s permanent residents of the state.

 “We the residents of Jammu and Kashmir will shed our blood to defend Article 35-A. Which is our identity, we won’t succumb to the pressure of communal forces,” said ,Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie president Traders Federation sopore. 

Holding banners and placards that read ‘Dismiss PIL on Article 35-A’, ‘Assault on Article 35-A is Attack on our Existence’, ‘We Protest Removal of Article 35-A’, ‘We Will Shed Our Blood to Defend Article 35-A’, Members of Traders Federation, Civil society, Bar Association Sopore, Fruit Growers and dealers association Sopore, Teachers association, private school association, members of NGO Dawn, Aima’s of Masajid’s, members Industrial Estate Sopore, Members of Anjuman Moin-ul-islam Sopore, members of Press club of Sopore and various other organizations participated in the sit in.
