Baramulla: Unknown gunmen on Thursday shot dead a forest department employee in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Sources said that the gunmen fired upon the employee, Tariq Ahmad Malik at his residence, Zandpal Kunzer in Tangmarg.

Police said that one militant involved the murder was identified by locals known as “Kantroo” of Lashkar-e-Toiba.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation taken up, the police added .
