he markets of Kashmir are witnessing huge rush ahead of Eid ul Adha. Qurbani animals, garments, eatables and other itineraries are the first things being bought.  City center Lal Chowk is abuzz with shoppers.

People along with their families are flocking to animal selling points including the ones established by government.

“Bakery is an important item and bakers always have their busiest schedule these days. The customer pressure increases and so we have keep up with the market demand that has surged,” a Baker, Mohammad Shahnaz said.

He added that days before they are abuzz in preparation of new bakeries for selling them to customers on this festival.
On this festival, the visibility of womens seems more in marketing activities such as purchasing garments, jewelry and other wears for their kids, crockery items for cooking Eid dishes. Male community are perceived busy in buying sacrificing animals,  ethnic wears like readymade suits, Shelwar Kameez (dress usually worn by Muslim men), and other home needed essentials.
To interest and facilitate the shoppers, diverse stalls of bangles, attires, children toys and other eatables are temporarily established by vendors at road margins at different sites.
However shop keepers and other vendors are hopeful of witnessing increase in Eid sales. Mir Muzaffar, a readymade dealer said, “that it is yet the beginning of Eid sale and hopefully it will go high till late evening.” He further added that these festivals are full of hopefulness among trader fraternity to make satisfactory earnings from rest of the days
