All the three provinces Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh are worst hit. The drug mafia is getting highly organized and penetrating into our society with every single passing day. On the contrary no comprehensive steps or measures were taken by the state Government till date to control the menace of drug abuse in the society. Civil Society Forum Kashmir is very much confident and positive that the decision taken by the Chief Secretary to formulate the drug de addiction policy will help the state and society to counter the spread of drug abuse in J&K state. Need of an hour is to have  a comprehensive policy framed by the experts of the subject and experienced from the ground realities of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh in respect to drug addiction.

At the same time CSFK appeals to Chief Secretary J&K State to ensure meaningful honest and experienced people are part of the formulation Drug De Addiction policy.

Mass awareness to avoid further damage. Rehabilitation centers on Scientific Lines. Dedicated wing of police and other enforcement bodies should be the basic frame work of the policy.

J&K State is one of the worst hit states by drug addiction. Cases of all ages have been reported by the Doctors. The most productive age group of any society is worst hit in J&K State. The government and the society needs to come together to save the social fabric from the evils of drug abuse.
