Attempt to foil tricolor at Ghanta ghar foiled, people thrash non locals

Srinagar: Three non-local youth belonging to right wing party Bharatiya Janata Party were Tuesday thrashed by people after they tried to hoist tricolor at Ghanta Ghar.

Pedestrians pounced on the non local youth as they attempted to unfurl the flag, eyewitnesses said. 

According to eyewitnesses the trio were severely thrashed and CRPF deployed in the market quickly came to their rescue.

“Pro freedom slogans reverberated in the area and police took the youth in custody,” eyewitnesses said.

The youth have been detained at Kothibagh police station.
