Aug 13: Police on Monday said that the militant group Hizbul Mujahedeen was behind the abduction and subsequent assassination of a medical shop owner in Pulwama.

Militants, according to police in Murran Pulwama yesterday night barged inside the house of Gulzar Ahmad Bhat son of Ab. Gani Bhat resident of Murran Pulwama and abducted him.

Later on, Police recovered the bullet riddled dead body of Gulzar from the nearby fields of Murran Pulwama.

Police has registered a case and initiated investigation.

“Initial investigation in the matter suggests that in this incident Zahoor Thokar & Showkat Dar led group of proscribed outfit HM are involved in this Killing,” police spokesman said.
