Srinagar: Police conducted nocturnal raids in Tral area of Pulwama district and arrested several residents including father and a brother of an active militant in the intervening night of Aug 7 and 8.

Locals claimed that government forces raided the residence of active Hizb militant Adil Mir in Monghama village of Tral around 10:15 pm last night and detained father and brother of Adil.

According to police sources they had detained some other ‘people as well as they were working as Over ground workers and that is being investigated’.

According to media reports relatives of other militants too have been detained.

Official confirmation awaited.
