NC, PDP protest against attempts to scrap special status of J&K

National Conference and Peoples democratic party leaders Saturday protested in Srinagar against the petitions challenging Article 35 (A) and attempts to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The NC protest demonstration was led by the National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar. The protest was later joined by several leaders of the party.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday staged a protested as well and was  organised by Srinagar’s District Unit of PDP. The rally was led by Mohammad Khurshid Alam, PDP District President for Srinagar and MLC. He reiterated Party stand on specific guarantees to State including the Article 35-A and said that PDP leader Mehboba Mufti’s firm stand as Chief Minister on this Article is well known and in consonance with honour and dignity of the people.

Several senior party leaders including Rafi Ahmad Mir , Nizamuddin Bhat, Ab Hameed Kosheen, Muntazir Mohiuddin, Dr Ali Mohammad, Showkat Gayoor, Adv Khurshid Ahmad, Aijaz Ahmad Rather, Mohammad Shafi Mir, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Shafi Kundangar, Ab Hameed Dar, Mohammad Sideeq Mir, Abul Hassan Bhat, Jeelani Kumar, Mohammad Lateef Mir, Showkat Ahmad, and many others participated in the symbolic Rally to make the party stand more manifest and as an assurance to State’s people  of PDP’s unflinching faith and consistent stand to lead and support all common concerns.
