Traders from various associations assembled inside Fruit Mandi and raised slogans against revoking article 35A.

There were holding placards reading “Dismiss petition Challenge”, “save article 35 A”, against attempts to abrogate Article 35A.

Article 35A of the Indian Constitution is an article that empowers the Jammu and Kashmir state’s legislature to define “permanent residents” of the state and provide special rights and privileges to those permanent residents. The law bars purchase of any property by a non permanent resident of the state.
