Stopped to have lunch, 12 year old boy killed by shooting stone near Zojilla

Ganderbal: A 4th class student was killed after being hit by a shooting stone near Zojila on Sgr-Leh highway on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports that a 12 year old boy namely Abrar Ahmad Khatana son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khatana resident of Kandimara Verinag was hit by a shooting stone and died on spot at Panimath near Zojila area of Sonamarg.

Police official said that the boy was travelling in a truck driven by his father.

“On way to Kargil they had halted their vehicle on roadside to have lunch at Panimath near Zojila and the heavy stone rolled down from Hilltop and fell on the boy resulting in on spot death,” the police officer said.
