Srinagar: The State government on Tuesday constituted a task force on mobility as per the NITI Aayog’s request to the States to formulate strategies for addressing issues concerning urban and rural mobility, public transportation, environment etc.
Headed by for Chief Secretary, the Task Force has been tasked to formulate, implement and monitor Mobility Strategy for the State, as per a GAD order issued here.
Beside chief secretary as the chairman, the committee comprises of administrative secretaries of Housing & Urban Development Department, Transport Department, Industries & Commerce, Power Development Department, Public Works(R&B) Department, Science & Technology Department, Transport Commissioner, Chairman, Pollution Control Board, Representatives from think tank (to be nominated by the concerned department/organization on the request of the Transport Department),
Representative of University of Jammu/University of Kashmir (to be nominated by the respective Vice
Chancellors ), Representative of National Institute of Technology Srinagar (to be nominated by the Director NIT Srinagar), Representative from Multilateral/Non-profit organization in the J&K State (to be nominated by the concerned department/organization on the request of the Transport Department,
Representative from Industry Bodies, Private Sector etc. (to be nominated by the Industries & Commerce Department), Representative from Central Institute of Road Research, Pune, Representative from Centre for Excellence in Urban Transport, University, Ahmadabad.
