Ganderbal: A programme regarding fitment/distribution camp for children with special needs was organized at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ganderbal by Education Department district Ganderbal under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), today.
On the occasion, a team of ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) Kanpur was present in the camp for the fitment of the appliances to the needy children.
During the camp number of devices and appliances were given to specially abled children like tri-cycle, wheel chair, cerebral palsy chair, rollator, MSID Kit, hearing aids and spectacles.
While addressing the camp DDC Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla appreciated the organizers and focused on the special facilities given to the physically challenged children by the Government. He further said that provided opportunities and proper facilities, specially-abled children can realize their dreams and aspirations like any other person and there are ample examples to substantiate this fact.
Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Sheikh Gayas-ud-din while speaking on the occasion said that Specially-abled children deserve equal care as any other children for their growth and development. He also stressed upon the students and their parents to send them in the school and get education for better future.
In the camp Zonal Education Officers, Principal Higher Secondary School Ganderbal (Boys) teachers and parents were also present.
