Two arrested in Pulwama: Arms, ammunition, recovered including explosives, detonating material

Pulwama: Police on Tuesday arrested two person and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession in Pulwama district.

According to police spokesman on Monday Pulwama Police received an information that militant 2-3 in number are hiding in the house of Bilal Ahmad Ganie S/O Mohd. Ahsan Ganie R/O Dangerpora Arihal.

“Accordingly a CASO was launched by Pulwama Police, 55-RR and 182,183  BN CRPF in the above mentioned village and a thorough search was conducted. During search huge quantity of explosive material was recovered from the said house. The material includes detonator, detonating material, connecting wires, electric chargers, batteries, mobile phones and remote control activating devices.  Few of the seized items are Pakistan marked,” he said.

Subsequently the house owner, Bilal Ahmad Ganie, was arrested.

In another incident a joint CASO comprising of 3 RR, 55 RR, 182,183 CRPF and Pulwama Police was laid in villag e Khellan near Naina Batapora.

“During search of the target house a Chinese pistol, 7 live rounds 9 mm , 01 magzine and 01 7.62 mm round was recovered from the possession of Sabzar Ahmad Mir S/O Ab Gani Mir R/O Khellan,” he added.

Sabzar has been taken in custody for illegal possession of the arms and ammunition, spokesman said.
