Non-functioning of Hospital Lifts: JKGGC seeks report

SRINAGAR, JULY 16: The J&K Government Grievance Cell (JKGGC) has, on the directions of the Governor N N Vohra, sought a report from the Managing Director, Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) regarding non-functioning of the lift system at various hospitals in the State.

According to a statement issued by a spokesman of the J&K Government Grievance Cell, a complaint was lodged with the Cell recently by a citizen regarding non-functioning of the lift systems at JLNM and LD Hospitals in Srinagar and District Hospital Baramulla.

He said although the complaint was forwarded to the concerned for redressal, there has been no response till date and accordingly, on the directions of the Governor, who has taken the issue very seriously, a report has been sought from MD JKPCC (Executing Agency) and Superintending Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Division Srinagar (Certifying / Taking over Authority) for non-functioning and non-commissioning of these lifts.

Meanwhile, according to the spokesman, in an effort to ensure speedy redressal of the grievances /complaints pertaining to Directorate of Health Services, a review meeting was convened here today under the chairmanship of Inam-ul Haq Siddiqui, Additional Secretary, J&K Government Grievance Cell.

The meeting was informed that out of 51 complaints forwarded to the Directorate of Health Services, 48 have been disposed of till date and three complaints are in the process of disposal.

The spokesman said that the Governor is personally monitoring all grievances / complaints lodged by general public in J&K Government Grievance Cell to ensure speedy redress.
