Srinagar: Director General of Police S P Vaid Friday hailed appointment of former Lt gen Ata Hasnain as Chancellor Central University Kashmir.

Vaid took to Twitter and accorded welcome to Hasnain saying he has served in the valley in different capacities.

“My heartiest congratulations to Lt General @atahasnain53 for being appointed as the chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir. General has served in Kashmir in many capacities during his career in the Army and I wish him all the best for the future,” Vaid tweeted.

Hassnain was Friday appointed Chancellor to CUK after President Ram Nath Kovind cleated  his name for the post.

Chancellor CUK is an honarary post and draws no salary from university but is provided Travelling allowance and Dearness allowance only.
