Srinagar: Trehgam youth killed yesterday by Army fire as laid to rest after thousands participated in his funeral prayers in his native village in Kupwara district on Thursday.

Khalid Ahmad Malik, son of Abdul Gafar Malik of Bun Pora Trehgam, who was killed in army firing last evening.

Earlier thousands of people somehow managed to reach the Jinaza Gah amid restrictions and attended his funeral prayers. They raised anti-India and anti-army slogans, witnesses said.

An army party had opened fire along the Kupwara-Chowkibal road area last evening after few stones were hurled at them resulting in the killing of Khalid.
