Srinagar: Governor N N Vohra on Wednesday appointed senior advocate DC Raina as advocate general of Jammu and Kashmir.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under section 42 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and in supersession of notification SRO 180 dated June 3, 2016, the Governor is pleased to appoint Shri DC Raina, Senior Advocate as Advocate General for the State,” an order issued by Departmnet of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs read.

Raina’s appointment comes nearly three weeks after Jehangir Iqbal Ganai, who was appointed by the PDP-BJP coalition Government, resigned.
