Shopian: Protest erupted Monday morning in Shopian after residents of kundalan village of shopian in south kashmir accused Army of beating villagers under the guise of search operation during night and beaten youth with out any provocation.

Reports said this morning people blocked shopian-Anantnag road protesting against forces move.

A youth has ruthlessly beaten by Army and injured was shifted to near by hospital where he was reffered to srinagar for further treatment.

However before some days ago three bike borne militants appeared in same village and asked people remove fencing and barbed wires from orchards or face consequences.

When contacted Army they refutes allegation saying we did not beat anyone in the village
