Srinagar: Civilian killings are taking the Valley deeper and deeper into an abyss of alienation and disenchantment, National Conference said on Monday and condemned the killing of a youth Yawar Ahmed in Kulgam.
“Unabated civilian killings are unacceptable and can’t be tolerated,” Party State Secretary and Former Cabinet Minister, Sakina Itoo said and expressed profound grief and sorrow over the killing of Yawar Ahmed of Ghassipora Wanpoh in Kulgam on Sunday.
“Civilian killings are taking the Valley deeper and deeper into an abyss of alienation and disenchantment and it is incumbent on the Administration to ensure there is no further loss of precious lives. The youth stand alienated and isolated and such tragedies are pushing them further away from the system at grave costs to the cause of peace, stability and normalcy in the region” she said in a statement issued here. She also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
