Srinagar: A youth was killed in firing by government forces on protesters in Qaimoh village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Reports said that a 23-year-old Yawar Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, a resident of Gasipora Wanpoh, sustained a critical bullet wound in his chest in forces action in Chadder area of the village Qaimoh.
Dar was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag where doctors declared him dead on arrival, they said.
More than 15 persons’ sustained injuries in action by the government forces action, sources said.
Locals also alleged that the government forces also ransacked several residential houses and beat up scores of people including women without any provocation.
Earlier, police claimed two militants were killed during the gunfight in the area. One militant also surrendered, police said.
