Constitute squads to check attendance in Govt offices: Div Com to DCs

SRINAGAR: In order to ensure transparency in the working system and improve work culture in government offices, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Saturday directed all Deputy Commissioners to constitute squads for conducting surprise checks of different offices to ascertain the attendance of officials and employees.
The Div Com instructed that strict action as per service rules be initiated against officials found unauthorisedly absent from their duties. He also directed for immediate and strict operationalization of biometric attendance system in all the government offices.
The DCs were also directed to ensure submission of daily attendance reports as per the format of employees by their respective departments to the Div Com Office by 10.30 am so that same could be submitted to the Governor’s Secretariat and GAD.
It was said the non-compliance with these instructions would lead to the initiation of strict disciplinary action against the defaulters.
