Hundreds of men and women blocked Hazratbal-Ganderbal Road at Gulabbagh demanding punishment to culprits who are  involved in killing of a local man namely Ghulam Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Wahab Mir resident of Gulabbagh during water scuffle some days before.

According to protesting locals and friends of Mir, his killing was not a mistake but a pre planned murder and he was assaulted with the intention to kill.

“Police is not acting as they should in this case. They should hang the culprits. Some of whom are yet to be arrested and are enjoying,” they said.

Police officials reached to the spot and tried to pacify them however they asked Superintendent of Police to visit them and only after he gives them a patient hearing, they will let the traffic go.

Situation in the area is tense as protesters are in no mood to be swayed by police promises of action.

“The police the administration are callous in approach. It’s a case of murder and a man has been killed in cold blood. Doesn’t there conscience shake,” they said while shouting slogans against government  as well.
