IED recovered in Awantipora, defused

Srinagar: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED)  planted by suspected militants at Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was revered and defused thus averting a major tragedy.

Police Tuesday claimed that after the IED was detected Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS)  was pressed into service and who did their job ‘with professional acumen’.

Suspected militants had planted the explosives at at Kanjinag link road near grid station in Awantipora

The IED was later defused wihout causing loss to life or property.
