Srinagar: A traffic cop was killed in a road mishap at Pantha-Chowk area along the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday, police said.

The cop has been identified as Special Police Offices Manzoor Ahmad a resident of Zewan.

In the mishap, the SPO sustained critical injuries after hit with vehicle (407) working with a construction company. He was immediately taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

The driver of the vehicle is still absconding. Meanwhile a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up.
